To support transparency and accountability, SCC’s core and guiding values are outlined below.
○ Systems Thinking
Siler Climate Consulting is committed to building community resilience in ways that simultaneously address root causes of vulnerability.
○ Climate and Environmental Justice
People of color, low income people, disabled people, women, people living without dignified housing, and other socially disadvantaged groups experience disproportionate environmental and climate injustice. Siler Climate Consulting centers the belief that all people have a right to a healthy and safe climate and environment regardless of systems of oppression.
○ Muscular Hope
Siler Climate Consulting rejects the logic of “there is no alternative” to the injustices of climate vulnerability. Peyton deeply believes that we can imagine alternative futures that require alternative economies, energy systems, and ways of living that enable all living beings to thrive.
○ Transparency
Transparency around rate and work is not only a core value but a practice for Siler Climate Consulting. Peyton is happy to share her business plan with prospective POC, women, and queer business owners, residents of communities where she works, as well as current and future clients.
○ Reparations
Siler Climate Consulting is committed to working free of charge with climate and environmental justice organizations and frontline community groups harmed by white supremacy. Peyton specializes in supporting engagement between community-based organizations and local governments.
