Hopkinton, Ma Community-led Resilient Land Initiative

Siler Climate Consulting is leading a two-year project with the Town of Hopkinton to mitigate climate impacts including stormwater flooding, impaired water quality, and heat. Decisions for the project are guided by a Core Team - composed of community members, regional watershed association representatives, and town staff. This collaborative project focuses on:

  1. Launching a community-led outreach and engagement campaign focused on land stewardship and resilience.

  2. Co-developing two site design priorities at locations selected in partnership with community members

  3. Developing site plans based on community input to help manage stormwater and reduce heat.

The project will result in site designs for two green infrastructure solutions that add natural features to urban spaces. The site designs will focus on nature-based solutions, providing benefits like improved water quality, cooler outdoor spaces, and spaces to engage with nature.

Centering the input of Hopkinton community voices has been a priority since we started working with this community in 2024.
