Municipal climate solutions in solidarity with a Free Congo.

This week, local organizing groups in Congo are collaborating on Congo Sovereignty Week. A week to speak out in support of organizations leading the way for a free and sovereign Congo. 

Climate solutions for US municipalities that are in solidarity with Congolese sovereignty will come from our neighbors who have lived on the front lines of climate and environmental injustice, not companies who will profit off a green transition at the expense of those at the bottom of the global mining supply chain. 

Climate practitioners who are committed to justice not only in the US but around the world have a responsibility to collaboratively imagine a world where climate solutions for US cities are materially in solidarity with movements to build collective power in the Congo and everywhere where colonialism and capitalism have led fellow human beings to suffer in extreme poverty.
