SCC Update: New Office in Asheville, North Carolina
June 21, 2025
Hey y’all! Peyton here. I’m really excited to share ~officially~ that I am now based in Asheville, North Carolina. I grew up here, and am delighted to be back home living close to family. Siler Climate Consulting is still headquartered out of Portland, Maine, and I’ll be back in the Northeast often to continue our ongoing work in Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire.
While so many factors contributed to my decision to come home, the experience I had with my family out in Swannanoa during Hurricane Helene has been a catalyst for this particular timeline. As I’m landing back here, I’ll be attending recovery events and meetings, listening and learning about the recovery process to date, and strategically identifying where my skills and passions can best support ongoing work here. Our hope is that overtime, Siler Climate Consulting can bring and adapt the skills we've cultivated in the Northeast with flood-impacted communities to Western North Carolina. We’re a team of urban climate planners who specialize in facilitating socially just processes that align with broader movements for liberation. We are humbled by the opportunity to hold space for hard conversations related to climate resilience and recovery, and after almost a decade of working “away”, it feels like a tremendous privilege to imagine getting to do this work I love in South Appalachia.
Our Asheville office is located on S. French Board, between downtown and the River Arts District. If you’re local, please reach out for a coffee or meeting. I’m looking forward to all the collaborations the lie ahead. And to our existing clients in New England, I can’t wait to make good use of the direct Asheville to Boston flights :) See you soon!
